Funeral prices

At J. Ribbons we believe funeral costs should be fair, affordable and transparent. All Funeral Directors are required to publish a Standardised Price List to enable families to easily compare the costs of a funeral service and the individual items that make up the service. Please click on the buttons below to view our prices.

We have also included the fees for the local crematoriums.

We would require a deposit payment covering all disbursements when arranging a service. We would ask that the balance of the funeral account is settled before the date of the service, however this can be discussed with our funeral director and other arrangements made where possible. Please contact us to discuss any questions you may have regarding payments.

If you are entitled to a DWP funeral payment, to help with the cost of a funeral service, we will assist with the process.

Direct Cremation (unattended) £1295

Bringing your loved one into our care, personal service from our funeral director to make all arrangements, a cremation at a local crematorium (non attended), a simple wooden coffin, use of our chapel of rest for family and friends to say their goodbyes, transportation to the crematorium and return of ashes as agreed.

Traditional Cremation £3345.

A Cremation with a celebrant/minister to lead the service, a traditional wooden coffin, a traditional hearse, our professional services, bringing your loved one into our care and the use of our chapel of rest.

Traditional Cremation (with limousine and flowers) £3675

A Cremation with a celebrant/minister to lead the service, a traditional wooden coffin, a traditional hearse and 1 limousine, our professional services, bringing your loved one into our care, the use of our chapel of rest and a spray of flowers.

Traditional Burial £3995*

A celebrant/minister to lead the service in the chapel, interment in the cemetery, a traditional wooden coffin, a traditional hearse and 1 limousine, our professional services, bringing your loved one into our care, the use of our chapel of rest and a spray of flowers.

*If you do not already own a plot, one will need to be purchased. A new plot in one of the Hull cemeteries (10 year lease) would cost £330. A new plot in East Riding cemeteries (60 year lease) would cost £1300. Please ask for further details.

If there is a headstone in place this would need to be removed before a burial can take place.

Prices given above for cremation and burial are based on the service taking place at Chanterlands Crematorium or Lelley Fields Crematorium. Other Crematoria may charge higher costs.
